Alex Redbud: Guide to locally purchased strains

Alex Redbud on Facebook has been trying several pot strains from different growers that she’s purchased at Vancouver’s two shops, Main Street Marijuana and New Vansterdam.

She shared her pictures of those products with us with some notes on each one. Check it out (comments below each photo are Alex’s, not mine, by the way):

Skywalker Kush- Monkey Grass Farms - Great strain. Has a fairly sweet smell and taste.

Rainbow - Monkey Grass Farms - Strong Sativa strain. This has a fruity scent, and the buds are fairly dense. Slightly harsh to smoke, but I would recommend this strain.

Pineapple Kush - Monkey Grass Farms - Very harsh to smoke. Smell coming out of the bag is sour, nothing like Pineapple. One of their stronger Sativa strains, but I'd look for this from a different grower.

Critical+ - Farmer J's - Fairly standard, nothing stood out. Described as "fruity Skunk", but it didn't smell or taste any different to me. Just an average strain, in my opinion.

S.A.G.E - Farmer J's - This strain has a very odd scent. It was described and "spicy sandalwood" which I'd say is accurate. Light, fluffy, and consistent buds is how I'd describe it. Also, looking at upper middle section of the right bud, there looks to be seed pods starting to form. I haven't seen or smoked any seeds though.

Sour Diesel - Peninsula Cannabis - Harsh smoke, very rough on the throat. I also tried Blue Dream from this grower and had a similar experience. I was warned by New Vansterdam that it was most likely harvested early, so at least they were up front about it.

Blueberry Grape Ape Pre Roll - Monkey Grass Farms - The mixture was nearly all bud, and smoked very well. These two strains together(Blueberry and Grape Ape) make for a tasty combination.

Blue Dream Pre Roll, Farmer J's - Finely ground mix of bud and leaf. 3 grams total for $50. It's a good strain, but I wouldn't buy these again due to the mixture.
