Michael Backes, author of Cannabis Pharmacy: The Practical Guide to Medical Marijuana, will be part of the “Science on Tap” lecture series at the Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton Street, in Portland.

Backes will talk about evidence-based research on cannabis, helpful and harmful medical uses and other information on cannabis varieties and preparations.

The lecture will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24. Cost is $8 in advance; $10 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m.
