Second Herbery location now open

The Herbery opened its second location in a soft launch this morning (Thursday) in preparation for the store’s Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, May 23 (click the link for more on the grand opening sale).

The new store at 6018 N.E. St. John’s Blvd., Suite D. has a very similar design as the company’s original store at 212 NE 164th Avenue, Suite #11, which opened in February.

Jim Mullen, the Herbery’s chief operating officer and co-owner, said he envisions the store branching out even further as the legal marijuana market continues to transform here in Washington and across the United States.

“We wanted to bring what works at our other store here to the new one,” Mullen said. “It’s somewhat like a franchise, where we want to brand ourselves this way.”

The new store passed its final inspections on Wednesday.

The final store allocated for Vancouver, Green Head Cannabis, will be at 2815 St. Johns Blvd., Suite B. That store also hopes to open in the next few weeks. (Vancouver was allocated six stores in the Washington Liquor Control Board lottery).

Mullen said he’s well aware that Vancouver’s two final retail stores seem close together, but he thinks the growing market will be big enough for both.

“I’m happy to see all six of our stores up and running,” Mullen said. “Green Head, they’re on the other side of SR 500 from us, but I think we’ll probably be sharing some customers.”

The Herbery also recently secured a deal to be the exclusive supplier of Phat Panda products in Clark County. Those products have been highly popular at several stores in our area, but the company chose to work with The Herbery because the store agreed to carry Phat Panda’s entire line of products, Mullen said.

The company is also the exclusive Vancouver seller of Billifer’s Buds, Nettles Unlimited and Northern Hemisphere products, he said.

Store hours at the new shop are 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today (May 21) and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. After that, both stores will switch to new summer hours, which will be:

10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday

“We’ve been training our staff for the last two weeks (for the new store) and we hope to replicate what we’ve done well,” Mullen said. “It’s been a lot of fun. We hope people will enjoy our new location.”
