OREGON CANNABIS GROWERS’ FAIR TO SELL DO-IT-YOURSELF GROW KITS FOR AMATEUR GROWERS, JIMI HENDRIX-BRANDED CANNABIS CANDY

Savant Plant Technologies to Provide Grow Kits and Advise for DIYers; Purple Haze Properties to Launch Infused Candies Named After Legendary Guitarist’s Best-Known Songs

Salem, OR – August 10, 2016 – The inaugural Oregon Cannabis Growers’ Fair, which is the first-ever exposition and competition for cannabis growers, will feature do-it-yourself grow kits and a cannabis candy collection inspired by and named after legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix’s music, according to OCGF producer Mary Lou Burton.

The DIY grow kits will be provided and sold by Savant Plant Technologies, a grower-direct supplier of elite horticulture products and services, both commercial agricultural and indoor. Savant’s products are EPA- and OSHA-approved.

Purple Haze Properties manages intellectual properties and brands for an array of celebrities, both living and deceased, and will launch the Jimi Hendrix Candy Collection, a full range of cannabis snacks. The company will have on hand more than 1,000 non-infused candies to sample.

“The Oregon Cannabis Growers’ Fair isn’t just for professional growers,” Burton said. “We want to spread knowledge of cannabis far and wide as a viable commodity, and both of these featured exhibitors hit home with consumers and DIYers alike.”

The fair is scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, August 13-14, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. Other notable features of the OCGF include:

  • Oregon’s first-ever cannabis live plant competition, which will showcase more than 100 of the state’s premier cannabis growers competing for awards, including $10,000 in prizes. Additionally, the top nine winning plants will be displayed at the Oregon State Fair from August 26 through September 5.
  • Appearing as a guest judge in the live plant competition will be noted horticulturist, author and columnist Ed Rosenthal, also known as the “Guru of Ganja,” who has written or edited more than a dozen books on cannabis cultivation and social policy. Rosenthal will be signing his latest book, Big Book of Buds: Greatest Hits, at the OCGF.
  • Energy Trust of Oregon will give a presentation each day of the event, focusing on lighting and HVAC opportunities for attendees; representatives from the Oregon Department of Agriculture will be in attendance; and the Oregon Liquor Control Commission’s Recreational Cannabis Division will provide updates regarding final rules and regulations for cannabis cultivation, processing and sales.

Developed as an opportunity to bring together the industry under one roof to learn from “master growers,” the Oregon Cannabis Growers’ Fair will serve to share ideas, new technology, review rules and regulations, learn about testing and much more about this new and “budding” industry that is growing at rapid speed, Burton said.

The Oregon Cannabis Growers Fair is produced by the Cannabis Collaborative Conference and the Oregon Cannabis Business Council. Admission is $20 to the general public, 21 years of age and older. For more information on the show, sponsorships and exhibitors visit http://cangrowfair.com.
