Fruity Pebble Rice Krispy Treat Recipe
Since I made my first-ever batch of cannabutter, I decided to make my first-ever treat, using the cannabutter I made. This wasn’t my first time baking with cannabutter, the same day I learned to make the butter, I made banana bread, but chose not to take pics or share that recipe…YET.
So what to make for my first recipe post? I didn’t want my first recipe to be something basic like, brownies, or cookies, but I felt like it needed to be simple enough for me or anyone else that’s new to baking with cannabutter. So, I took a simple recipe like Rice Kripsy Treats and gave it a fun little twist by using Fruity Pebbles instead (I actually got the idea from my dope-ass cousin).
I used this simple recipe from Post’s website for “Marshmallow Crispy Treats“, and as I was reading through the comments, something I do with any baking/cooking recipe, I noticed that someone else was using cannabutter as a butter substitute as well. What’s that thing about great minds thinking alike?
You Will Need:
1/4 cup melted cannabutter (cannabutter recipe)
1 pkg (10 oz) miniature marshmallows (you can substitute with marshmallow creme)
1 pkg (13 oz) Fruity Pebbles (I added Rice Krispy Treats into the mixture)
13 X 9 inch greased pan (I didn’t grease mine)
Spoon For Mixing
Wax Paper
To Make Treats:
1. Melt cannabutter in microwave safe bowl.
2. Add marshmallows to butter and toss to coat, when marshmallows are nice and coated with cannabutter, microwave for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted and then stir.
3. Add cereal in little by little while mixing to make sure cereal is coated evenly with mixture.
4. Pour mixture into pan and press down with wax paper until surface is smooth/even, cover and set aside to cool before eating.
5. Enjoy your treats and have a yabba dabba doo time!
As I mentioned above the recipe I used was pretty simple, how simple? You don’t even need to turn on your stove or oven, all you need is your microwave and it’ll only take you about 15 minutes to make these delicious treats. THAT IS FAST AS HELL! I did substitute about a cup of the Fruity Pebbles for some Rice Krispy Treats, it’s not something you need to do, but I did it to cut out some of the sugar: Fruity Pebbles + Marshmallows = SUGAR HIIIIIIIGH!
The strength of the treats depend on the strength of your butter, and it’s effects will also depend on your tolerance. My cannabutter was strong, so I chose to eat half the Fruity Pebble Treat and waited about 15 – 20 minutes before I finished the rest. I felt like the first half kicked in pretty fast, but I wanted to feel it more so I ate the rest and I was HIIIIIGH and that went well into the rest of the night. I slept like a baby.
The treats themselves tasted great too! Chewy, sweet, and had a nice ganja taste to them which went well with the sweetness of the Fruity Pebbles cereal. You may want to make a second batch of these treats, but free of cannabutter, because you will want more, and don’t want to overdo it on the edibles unless you know you can handle seconds.
All in all for my first official edible creation using cannabutter I was pretty happy with the end result. The recipe was easy and I had a lot of fun making the Fruity Pebble Rice Krispy Treats…and eating them too! I was satisfied with the taste and with how high they got me. They’re great for any sort of gathering: birthday parties “pot” luck’s, camping trips, and also clutch for when you plan on staying in due to: binge watching the new season of OITB, being a shut-in due to too many Minecraft parties, or being way-to-mesmerized by Steph Curry’s ball handling skills during the NBA post season, these are also awesome to have on-hand for any sort of mind numbing, youth activity like soccer, ballet recitals, or family trips to the Farmer’s Market. Want to soften the sound of evil children? EAT A FRUIT PEBBLE RICE KRISPY TREAT! If you have children in your home whether their yours or someone else’s and you’re storing your treats for future use, please make sure you store them somewhere out of reach, or clearly label the bag so they know to keep out.
HAMMING IT UP THINKING “WWKKD?”:
Do you have any recipes that use cannabutter you think I might like, or is there something you’d like to see? Leave me ideas below in the comments and let me know if you like what you saw!
