The pace of business is quietly picking up at Vancouver’s newest pot shop, GreenHead Cannabis. The store held a soft opening on June 12, and Managing Director Amy Graeff is settling in well to her new job.

“It’s been steady,” said Graeff, who moved back from the East Coast to her hometown of Vancouver to run the store. “Lots of friends and family that are supporting us, so that’s been good, and I’m seeing lots of faces I haven’t seen for a long time. So, that’s been neat.”

The third weekend of June looks to be the time when things could really take off for the eye-catching store built in a 78-year-old gas station building at the corner of St Johns Boulevard and East 29th Street. Today, GreenHead is hosting a grand opening celebration, and lots of deals are in store for the shop throughout the weekend, as Graeff will host several growers and local food trucks, including Ingrid’s Goodstreetfood, a popular new Mediterranean restaurant on wheels.

“Most of our farms are going to be here this weekend,” she said. “Same with DOPE Magazine.”

Since opening, Graeff and her family, who owns the store, have made some little changes here and there. They’ve added a framed menu to the wall and shifted up some of the display cases for a more streamlined product presentation. Perhaps most exciting for consumers, GreenHead has also started carrying products from a wider range of growers.

Initially, GreenHead only sold strains from Earth Rising Farm, Vashon Velvet and CannaSol Farms. Now, popular Vancouver-based grower CannaMan Farms has flower in the store.

“We’re redoing the menu,” Graeff said. “We’re getting a lot of different farms, and all of our farms are organic and sustainable. That was a big focus of our company.”

Graeff also has some exciting plans in store for the place. Soon, she’ll begin teaching weekend classes at the shop for anyone interested in learning how to make craft cocktails with cannabis. And Craft Elixirs, which has been one of GreenHead’s top sellers, is making a product exclusively for the store.

Other big sellers at GreenHead include pre-rolls from Vashon Velvet, Beauty Sleep tinctures and Dopen vape pens.

GreenHead’s website also launched today. For updates on products, events, classes and anything else going on at GreenHead, pay it a little visit and sign up for the store’s newsletter.

As for grand opening weekend specials, here’s what you’ll find:

-All veterans with a valid military ID get 10 percent off any products in the store (that deal will always apply).

-All Earth Rising Farm flower selling for 10 percent off.

-Joints from Earth Rising Farm for $5 apiece.

-1 gram packs of flower from CannaMan Farms for $10 apiece.

Zoots products selling for 25 percent off.

GreenHead is the sixth store in Vancouver, and the seventh in Clark County. It’s also the last allotted for the city under the state’s initial retail license system for recreational marijuana.
