Strain Review: GDP From Smokey Pointe Productions
This review is of Grandaddy Purple, a strain that was originally posted on and reviewed for the Cannabis Daily Record. I really enjoyed GDP, it’s one of those strains that hits your mind with bubbly exuberance, and your body with this tranquil relaxation.
(I’m hoping to have some of my long form reviews up soon, working on it!)
Strain: Granddaddy Purple (aka Grand Daddy Purp aka GDP – Indica of Purple Urkel & Big Bud)
Grower: Smokey point Productions (Washington)
Onset time: Smacked in the face w/ some GDP instantly
Fade: One and a half to two hours
Strength: This stuff packs a punch!
Tingling (where did you feel it): Started off in my head and then moved to my eyes, as the high progressed my cheeks felt flushed. Body felt very relaxed, aches and pains in my lower back faded and didn’t return.
Control: My eyes were VERY low, but felt like I was in control of my mind and body.
Emotions: At first I was very bubbly with this exuberant energy, found myself having a solo dance party to some Rihanna. After the energetic buzz was wearing off, my body started to feel more relaxed and tranquil.
Paranoia: No paranoia
Energy Level: Body was mellowed and pain free, but my mind felt very awake and sharp. I was surprised this didn’t make me more sleepy.
Smell: GDP has a sweet aroma, reminded me of a grape jolly rancher
Relieves: Great to have on hand for aches & pains as it relaxes your body, zoned out pretty hard when I was icing my back.
Positives: Nice dual strain to have on hand for those days when you need relief from stress or pain. Stress can wreak havoc on your muscles, kill 2 birds with one stone.
Negatives: Red Eyes! If you’re smoking this and don’t want to look TOO stoned keep some visine on hand. I did get a slight case of the munchies when this wore off.
Other Notes: Very dense and sticky! Darker in color, packed w/ yellowish trichomes and amber pistils, not much purple. This strain had 0.29 CBD’s, I noticed that when I ingest products w/ CBD’s my body tends to feel warmer than those strains w/ lower or none.
