Pot coffee and sodas: Where are they?
The launch of Mirth Provisions line of Legal beverages was supposed to happen a week ago, with three marijuana infused sodas.
That didn’t happen. There was a problem and a delay, said Adam Stites, owner of the company.
After everything passed testing and inspection, the company discovered some bottle caps were popping off because of the carbonation.
Turns out, the company was given the wrong bottle types for carbonated beverages from its supplier.
“After a variety of tests, research and emails back and forth with the glass factory, we determined that the bottle distributor accidentally sent us a style of bottle which is not rated for fully carbonated beverages,” Stites said in an email to The Columbian.
The coffee line of products is on hold because of state restrictions on certain types of edibles, including those that require refrigeration. But the sodas are clear for takeoff once the bottle issue is fixed.
Now that Stites knows what the problem is, he hopes to get new bottles and get his product out the door hopefully in a week or two.
“We are currently in discussions with two other distributors of bottles and we expect to have a solid ETA on when replacement bottles will arrive by the end of the week,” Stites said.
When they arrive, here’s what the first release will be:
I’ll let you know more when I hear back from Adam after he gets the problems fixed.
