It’s pretty common these days to see comparisons between growing coffee chains and the great Northwest behemoth that is Starbucks. And not all of them hold water.

Well, here’s one that actually might. Forbes recently ran a story about Vancouver’s own Fairwinds Manufacturing, a fast-rising marijuana grower/processor specializing in extracts, edibles, vapes and other cannabis infusions.

The company has already gotten some national attention, making a name for itself as a leading producer for edibles. Fairwinds owner James Hull envisions his Catapult coffee line becoming the Starbucks of marijuana-infused coffee.

Hull mostly uses fair trade coffee from Northwest roasters, and he infuses the stuff with cannabis oil. Catapult already has a pretty mass appeal, since Fairwinds sells it in K-Cups.

In Clark County, you can find Fairwinds products on store shelves at The Herbery and High End Market Place. They’re also sold at The Cannabis Corner down Highway 14 in North Bonneville. Don’t be surprised if Catapult and other Fairwinds products spread to other local stores soon.

Last month, Clark County marijuana growers sold more than $397,000 worth of products. Fairwinds accounted for the largest cut of that total, making $148,786 in sales, according to figures released by the Washington State Liquor Control Board.
