New pot sales record of $1.5 million set on Feb. 27

Pot sales continue to increase in the state of Washington.

On Friday, Feb. 27, a new daily record was set in the industry, with $1,554,649.04 ($1.5 million) in sales and $388,662 worth of excise taxes collected.

The previous record was set on New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2014, with more than $1.2 million in sales ($1,217,025.96).

Industry sales overall crested the $100 million mark last week. Those are sales since the recreational market began on July 8, 2014.

The trend of growing sales each month also continued in February.

Month by month sales (rounded up) are:

July 2014: $3.4 million
August 2014: $7.3 million
September 2014: $8.7 million
October 2014: $13 million
November 2014: $16 million
December 2014: $17 million
January 2015: $18.5 million
February 2015: $22.3 million

Total sales to date, including the first few days of March, are: $108 million.

It will be interesting to see if the sales growth continues in March!
